A pair of long-awaited openings are happening in the Triangle this weekend.
Today at 5:00 pm, Lagoon Bar officially opens its doors in the BoxyardRTP development. An adjunct to Jake Wood’s popular Lawrence Barbecue (and located in the shipping container just upstairs,) it has a mid 20th-century tropical/surfer vibe with beverages to match. They won’t be able to serve hard liquor until next week, but this weekend Lagoon Bar will be pouring frozen “leisure beverages” like a Spice Boi N’ICEE and a Rosè N’ICEE along with local beers and wine.
Tomorrow morning at 11:00 am, Ashley Christensen will launch her first BB’s Crispy Chicken restaurant for two days of service in Raleigh’s Midtown East. “Shatteringly crispy” fried chicken sandwiches with various toppings and sauces are the stars of the slim menu, with brined french fries, sweet potato waffle fries, and crispy cheese curds as sides.
The Raleigh location is the first of three planned BB’s restaurants. (The other two, in Cary and Durham, will launch early next year.) The restaurant will close Monday and Tuesday to make sure everything is calibrated and the team has time to reset, but starting next Wednesday BB’s plans to be open seven days a week from 11 am to 9:00 pm.
